My name is Cat (I go by a slightly different name on different areas of the internet - for now, this'll do as a pseudonym.) I'm thirty two and Scottish.

I work full time as a care worker. I love my job. Care is an amazing career which is bogged down by mismanagement, undervaluing of labour and shitty working conditions.

My main intent for this journal is a spare place to gather together thoughts, as well as to catalogue process on various hobbies and writing. At the moment I really enjoy cross stitch and knitting, though I also crochet (something I'm not over-keen on nowadays).

I also like to read, but reading is a hobby I tend to enjoy thinking about more than I actually get round to doing! I primarily read fiction, with occasional non-fiction sprinkled in, and I'm not constrained to one genre or subject area. Most years I set a goal to read 52 books, which I've achieved... once. Despite having any form of demand placed on me by others, I *love* to set myself arbitrary goals, lmao.

Other things I enjoy: Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Wikipedia rabbit holes, podcasts (I hate the fandomification of true crime, so probably won't talk about it a lot, but find it fascinating; I also like shows about culture and history), cooking, occassionally I watch anime or read manga.

I'm open to friend requests, comments, whatever! :-)

Hi! I spotted your post on addme_fandom. I wanted to say, there should be an option to make a post "sticky" without needing to future-date it anymore :D I don't remember where the option is in the old interface (I use the new Beta Create Entry page, which you might be curious to check out!) but it should be under "Sticky entries" in your Display Settings if nowhere else!

Another random tip, the snowflake_challenge runs every January and just ended but you may find interesting people to add in the friending meme that was shared at the end! I found so many people now in my Dreamwidth circles during this event :D

hi there! i saw your post on addme_fandom. i use to work with kiddos with special needs (i recently started a new career because my former company got to be too much and also how frustrating getting my clients the supports they needed here was, too). i also love reading and end up buying more books than i end up reading, going down wikipedia rabbit holes, and using brackets, too haha. would you like to be friends?

hey! i saw your post in addme_fandom and took the liberty of subscribing because we have some fandoms in common (stardew valley and dungeon meshi caught my eye, and i saw that you're playing ff7 for the first time! super exciting, i watched a let's play of that last year after somehow remaining blissfully unspoiled on it this whole time and it was a ton of fun), and as a fellow lesbian with a broken brain who's hoping to get into a helping profession (psychology in my case!) i wanted to offer a friendly handshake emoji 🤝 i'm still finding my footing on dreamwidth so there's not much on my blog yet, but yeah, i hope we can chat sometime!
